What is WeCycle?
WeCycle is a local Matthews, NC business started in order to bring high-quality products that promote human consciousness into the global marketplace. These products include artfully handcrafted pieces that are made from salvaged, repurposed and recycled items. Our hope is to show people just what can be done with parts and pieces that might otherwise have found their way into a landfill. And if we can make the world a little more beautful in the process everyone wins!
My Inspirations
This funny thing called life is what inspires me. I have to credit my 2 amazing little girls for opening my eyes to a whole new way of life. A new way of looking at things. A return to that childlike state of wonder and awe. A life centered around love, which I have learned for me, is the biggest inspiration of all. It is because of this love for my children, humanity and our Planet that I am compelled to create what I create and do what I do to open up a dialogue with the world to learn from and grow with every person I come into contact with.
My Materials
Right now I have a fascination with plastic. What seems to be working the best is fusing plastic grocery/shopping bags together. I am then using this sturdier plastic to cut into flowers and combine with artificial flowers that I am repurposing as clips and pins. Vintage earrings, other discarded jewelry and errant feathers seem to find their way into these pieces as well.
